Your daily ritual of digestive bitters may help encourage the secretion of digestive juices and enzymes, which may promote optimal digestion, avoiding the unpleasant symptoms associated with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), such as bloating, wind, stomach pain, constipation and/or diarrhoea.

Suggested Use: To support healthy digestion, take 2.5ml in approximately 30ml of water before meals.  Not to exceed 3 times per day.

Ingredients: Angelica root (Angelica archangelica), Gentian (Gentiana lutea), Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Ginger root (Zingiber officinale), Alcohol.

Contraindications: Bitters also help to tonify and strengthen weakness in the sphincter from the oesophagus to the stomach and bring more tone to the mucosal membrane. However, caution must be exercised when using these bitters if you have such conditions as acid reflux/heartburn (GERD) due to elevated stomach acid, ulcers or Inflammatory Bowel Diseases like Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis as an excess can lead to more burning pains.

In which case use the more specific bitters such as acid reflux/heartburn, or ulcer bitters. Not to be used during pregnancy. Licorice is not recommended for long-term use if you have high blood pressure.

To test if you have elevated stomach acid take 5mls of Apple Cider Vinegar in approximately 30ml of water before your meal. If there is no tingling/burning sensation you do not have elevated stomach acid. However, if you do experience a tingling/burning sensation you have elevated stomach acid.

Please note slight sediment may form at the bottom of these bitters, therefore, shake your bottle well before dispensing.
