Having a nervous stomach affects your digestive function. Common symptoms of a nervous stomach may include “butterflies” in the stomach, tightness, cramping, or knots in the stomach. Nervous Stomach Digestive Bitters may support the digestive organs and functions, while more specifically supporting the function of the nervous system. As most of the nervous system is within the gut, it is necessary to be relaxed in order to digest food properly.

Suggested Use: To support healthy digestion, take 2.5ml in approximately 30ml of water before or after meals.  Not to exceed 3 times per day.

Ingredients: Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha piperita), Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis), Fennel seed (Foeniculum vulgare), Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Wood Betony (Stachys officinalis), Angelica root (Angelica archangelica), Alcohol.

Contraindications: Bitters also help to tonify and strengthen weakness in the sphincter from the oesophagus to the stomach, and bring more tone to the mucosal membrane. However, caution must be exercised when using these bitters if you have such conditions as acid reflux/heartburn (GERD) due to elevated stomach acid, ulcers or Inflammatory Bowel Diseases like Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis as an excess can lead to more burning pains. In which case use the more specific bitters such as acid reflux/heartburn, or ulcer bitters.

Not to be used during pregnancy.

Individuals with hypothyroidism should avoid the regular or long-term use of Lemon Balm at a therapeutic dose as it is known to suppress thyroid function.

To test if you have elevated stomach acid take 5mls of Apple Cider Vinegar in approximately 30ml of water before your meal. If there is no tingling/burning sensation you do not have elevated stomach acid. However, if you do experience a tingling/burning sensation you have elevated stomach acid.

Please note slight sediment may form at the bottom of these bitters, therefore, shake your bottle well before dispensing.
