As the state of the digestive system is directly tied into the cardiovascular system, Heart Health Digestive Bitters may optimise digestive function. It may do so by helping to relieve wind, bloating, indigestion, constipation, acid reflux/heartburn (caused by low stomach acid), loss of appetite, floating or foul-smelling stools. Thereby providing support for the blood, circulation, healthy lipid and cholesterol levels and healthy blood pressure.

Suggested Use: To support healthy digestion, take 2.5ml in approximately 30ml of water before or after meals.  Not to exceed 3 times per day.

Ingredients: Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale), Globe Artichoke (Cynara scolymus), Chamomile (Matricaria recutita), Hawthorn Berries (Crataegus monogyna), Gentian (Gentiana lutea), Ginger root (Zingiber officinale), Alcohol.

Contraindications: Bitters also help to tonify and strengthen weakness in the sphincter from the oesophagus to the stomach, and bring more tone to the mucosal membrane. However, caution must be exercised when using these bitters if you have such conditions as acid reflux/heartburn (GERD) due to elevated stomach acid, ulcers or Inflammatory Bowel Diseases like Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis as an excess can lead to more burning pains.
In which case use the more specific bitters such as acid reflux/heartburn, or ulcer bitters. Not to be used during pregnancy.

Hawthorn berries at a therapeutic dose will lower blood pressure, therefore, we want to be cautious in using it in conjunction with blood pressure medications.  Avoid in bleeding disorders or hypotension. Caution with anticoagulants. Healthy Heart Digestive Bitters are low dose.

To test if you have elevated stomach acid take 5mls of Apple Cider Vinegar in approximately 30ml of water before your meal. If there is no tingling/burning sensation you do not have elevated stomach acid. However, if you do experience a tingling/burning sensation you have elevated stomach acid.

Please note slight sediment may form at the bottom of these bitters, therefore, shake your bottle well before dispensing.
